TERROIR AND SOIL PROFILE

The Champanel terroir is made up of a deep clay-limestone soil that sits on a moraine formed by glaciers more than ten thousand years ago. This south, southeastern facing terroir promotes ideal maturity of the grapes and is one of the earliest ripeners in the vineyard. It gives Chasselas a spontaneous richness with citrus aromas of great intensity and as always bountiful fruitiness, whereas Pinot Noir acquires depth, complexity and raciness. The powerful personalities of Champanel wines stand out with great distinction.
